I’ve heard a lot of people talking about the new movie coming out in May 2015, “Avengers: The Age of Ultron.” Since so many people are talking about it and are interested, I’m going to tell you a little about the movie. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most ambitious to be put together by a studio. In the new Avengers movie, there are four main players: Joss Whedon (the director), Iron Man (Tony Stark), Thor, and Captain America. < http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Avengers-2-What-We-Know-So-Far-About-Age-Ultron-32405.html>
Joss Whedon is the only non-fictional character in this movie. He gets his own section on the important future of Marvel’s movie list. Joss signed a 3 year deal with Marvel, so he probably won’t be staying with the Marvel cinematic universe for very long. However, there is always the chance of him signing an even longer deal. He is the movie’s director and, since he only signed for 3 years, I wonder who will take over for him if he doesn’t renew his contract?
Iron Man, the heroic persona of Tony Stark, is led into Avengers 2 from his movie “Iron Man 3.” He’s a billionaire playboy philanthropist who stars in his own self titled trilogy of movies, starting back in 2008. But in Avengers 2, Iron Man wants to give up his lead position to the new supervillain Ultron.
Thor, who also has his own movie “Thor: The Dark World,” was left in an interesting position right before the credits rolled. Through Thor’s previous film, the audiences know that Thor actually left Asgard so it can be ruled under the Iron Fist Loki (Tom Hiddleston), but this probably won’t be figured out by most people until Thor 3. Thor is a Marvel character, but he won’t be appearing in Avengers 2. Why do you think he won’t be in that movie?
Last but not least, there’s the famous Captain America, most people’s all-time favorite, who by far has the biggest impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In “The Winter Soldier,” S.H.E.I.L.D turned out to be a massively corrupt institution that had been taken over by HYDRA and was subsequently destroyed by our heroes. Now the Captain and Thor will team up for a second time since 2012’s original “Avengers” against a whole new slate of super villains. Will these two come out on top once again? There’s a lot of hype surrounding this movie, but hopefully this movie will be as great as it sounds and people will be more interested in what Marvel has to offer after watching.
